About Mark

Mark is married to Helen and together they raised four children, now adults.  After graduating from Duke and serving four years in the US Navy, Mark worked  25 years at Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., a national consulting engineering firm (the best firm in America that no one has heard of).

Most of Mark's career at Kimley-Horn was on the business management side of the firm: developing and reviewing contracts and leases, helping project managers be successful, improving cash flow and profitability, and resolving disputes.

Outside of work, Mark has served on three different non-profit boards and various church committees. He and Helen are members at Blacknall Memorial Presbyterian Church.

After Kimley-Horn, Mark attended NCCU School of Law and is now a practicing attorney. Mark's other passion is the Incubator for Legal Practice and Innovation (ILPI) whose mission is to improve access to justice by helping entrepreneurial attorneys start financially sustainable practices.

Mark's legal practice is intentionally focused on the two area: small businesses and non-profits. It is a "perfect overlap" of Mark's personal passions, work experience and legal training.
